This one-day workshop is designed specifically for health professionals who want to deepen their understanding of concussion assessment, management, and rehabilitation. Learn practical skills in multi modal care ranging from cervico-vestibular, balance, ocular motor and autonomic assessments, through thorough instruction and hands-on activities. You’ll learn the most up-to-date and evidence based approaches and clinical reasoning skills for treating patients with acute and persisting concussions—boosting your confidence and clinical effectiveness.

Meet your Facilitators

James McLoughlin

James is an experienced Neurological Physiotherapist with degrees in both Physiotherapy (UniSA) and Clinical Neuroscience (University College London). James has completed a PhD in balance and gait at the University of New South Wales. James has gained extensive clinical experience in both neurological and vestibular rehabilitation including as Clinical Specialist in Neurology at St Georges Hospital, London in 2003-2005 and as Director of Advanced Neuro Rehab from 2005-present day.

James has been involved in research into Balance and human movement at several institutions, including the Sobell Department of Motor Neuroscience and Movement Disorders, Institute of Neurology, Queen Square (London), Neuroscience Research Australia (Sydney), Flinders University and the Repatriation General Hospital (Adelaide).

James has academic status as Associate Professor at Flinders University having previously created the Neurological Physiotherapy and Neurological Occupational Therapy Masters programs. In addition, James is director of a leading neurological and vestibular rehabilitation practice in Adelaide, advancedneurorehab.com.au and is Co-Director of Your Brain Health that aims to improve and support concussion care.

James describes himself as 'a great scavenger of information ' and is passionate about providing the best care and support for his patients, in addition to providing relevant neuroscientific and clinical education for health professionals, patients, family and carers through Advanced Neuro Education James has conducted over 50 professional development courses since 2009 and has been an invited speaker at 25 different local, national and international clinical and research conferences.

Liz Jemson-Ledger

Liz Jemson-Ledger is a highly respected, APA titled neurological physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience working in brain injury and neurological rehabilitation. As the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist at Advanced Neuro Rehab and Associate Director of Education for Your Brain Health, Liz is at the forefront of concussion care and rehabilitation. Working as both an educator and clinician, Liz has worked extensively with elite athletes and sporting organisations, contributing her expertise to both high-performance settings and community-based concussion management. 

Liz's professional journey began in an acute brain injury unit, where her passion for rehabilitation, particularly in concussion and vestibular conditions, took root. With a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a Masters of Neurological Physiotherapy, Liz’s career has been dedicated to advancing the multi-modal approaches to brain injury recovery. She has been instrumental in pioneering baseline concussion testing protocols for elite sporting clubs, establishing interdisciplinary care networks and research focused on neck function and fatigability in concussion. 

A passionate advocate for bridging the gap between concussion research and real-world clinical practice, Liz is committed to making concussion management accessible and effective in all settings. Liz has collaboratively developed a 10+ hour online learning resource designed to equip healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge to manage concussion care with confidence.
